Carol Scaife Memorial Scholarship
The Carol Scaife Memorial Scholarship award gives one student or recent graduate the opportunity to spend three days learning and networking with healthcare marketing and public relations professionals from across Wisconsin at the WHPRMS annual conference.
The scholarship was developed in 2006 to honor Carol Scaife, who served on the WHPRMS board for a number of years and had a great passion for healthcare marketing. She experienced an untimely death in 2005. She was always willing to help others, and this scholarship will allow her to continue to touch the lives of others in positive ways.
The opportunity is for any journalism, marketing, public relations, or advertising students with interest in the healthcare industry. Applicants must be a college student enrolled as a junior or senior during the Fall 2009 semester or Spring 2010 semester, a technical school student in the final year of study, or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months). Completed applications should be submitted along with a current resume, an essay and two letters of reference on or before May 14. The recipient will be named and all applicants contacted on or before August 13.
The estimated value of the scholarship is $750 and includes registration at the conference (to be held October 6-8, 2010 at the Tundra Lodge Resort in Green Bay, WI.), two nights of lodging at the resort, a stipend of $100, and one year of membership in WHPRMS so networking and education may continue.
