Carol Scaife Memorial Scholarship
I am excited to announce that WHPRMS is seeking applicants for the 2008 Carol Scaife Memorial Scholarship program. The award will give one student or recent graduate the opportunity to spend three days learning and networking with healthcare marketing and public relations professionals from across Wisconsin at the 2008 WHPRMS annual conference.

2008 marks the second year of this memorial scholarship which honors a former member who experienced an untimely death in 2005. Carol Scaife served on the WHPRMS board for a number of years and had a great passion for healthcare marketing. She was always willing to help others, and this scholarship will allow her to continue to touch the lives of others in positive ways.

I hope you will share the application materials with any current interns in your department, family members or friends who might have interest, or post for all employees if appropriate. The opportunity is for any journalism, marketing, public relations, or advertising students with interest in the healthcare industry (must be a recent graduate or of junior or senior status in Fall of 2009). Completed applications should be submitted along with an essay and two letters of reference on or before May 2, 2008.

The estimated value of the scholarship is $750 and includes registration at the conference (to be held October 1-3, 2008 at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wis.), two nights of lodging at the resort, a stipend of $100, and one year of membership in WHPRMS so networking and education may continue.

If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to contact me at srasmussen@bvk.com or (414) 228-1990, extension 126.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,
