Winter greetings to my fellow WHPRMS members!
It’s hard to believe the holidays are over and we’re well into January. I’m sure everyone is just tickled to be back at work after all the hustle and bustle, right?
Just wanted to briefly fill everyone in on what the board has been up to these past few months.
As you know, the WHPRMS mission is to provide you with educational and professional opportunities that elevate your expertise and prepare you for the challenges we all face in health care marketing, business development, public relations and communications.
To that end, we have a few educational sessions planned. Earn your “Health Care Marketing MBA in Just a Day” at our spring workshop March 6 at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee. I won’t get into the details, since I know all of you received a message about downloading the brochure and registration form. I urge you to check it out further at the WHPRMS website. You are sure to bring back many new ideas and techniques that will enhance your marketing experiences.
The annual Personal Development Day (PDD) will be May 15 at Monona Terrace in Madison, in conjunction with the WHA Advocacy Day. You can attend the morning’s session of WHA Advocacy Day, and hit the PDD in the afternoon. Again, watch the website for forthcoming information.
Finally, the board is busy planning topics and speakers for our annual fall conference, Oct. 1-3 in Elkhart Lake. In that light, I need your input/thoughts. Preliminary plans call for one of the tracks to be on public relations—hands-on proven grassroots techniques/methods that you can take and use. I am in charge of finding a moderator for the PR workshops. I’ve got a couple of thoughts/ideas already, but if any of you have been to or seen a good presentation that could benefit others in the organization, please let me know. I’d be happy to follow up.
Also a reminder that we are still looking for someone to assist our Education Committee chair. This person would help with the PDD, and with the fall conference, along preliminary planning for similar events in 2009. So if you are interested in more information let me know. Likewise, if you have any thoughts about what you’d like to hear/see at the conference, or for that matter, within WHPRMS, again, I’d love to hear from you via email, phone 715-387-7773, or cell 715-486-5011.
I know everyone is busy, so will end this message with a few examples of what you can use for your “out of office” automatic emails.

You are receiving this automatic notification because I am out of the office. If I was in, chances are you wouldn’t have received anything at all.

Sorry to miss you, but I’m at the doctor’s having my brain and heart removed so I can be promoted to the management team.

I will be unable to delete all emails you send me until I return from vacation. Please be patient and your mail will be deleted in the order it was received.

Hi. I’m thinking about what you’ve just sent me. Please wait by your PC for my response.
