The President-Elect

Reports to:
President

Term:
One year as President-Elect, one year as President, one year as Past-President.

Requirements:
Must have been a member of WHPRMS for at least three years and be a member of the board of directors for at least one year immediately prior to becoming president-elect.

Consideration will be given to professional expertise and involvement and service to the organization.

Job summary:
Assists President in the planning, organizing and staffing duties for the overall board operations. The President-Elect position has direct responsibility for the WHPRMS Scholarship project.

Duties:

  • Assists in developing agendas and schedules for board meetings.
  • Manage the Carol Scaife Memorial Scholarship program. Duties to include:
    • Refresh the school mailing list to marketing and public relation contacts at Wisconsin colleges and universities.
    • Prepare the mailing, making copies of application criteria, forms and necessary mailing labels.
    • Mail the cover letters and applications to college and university contacts.
    • Review student applications to ensure all required materials were provided and candidates meet criteria.
    • Send letter or email to any disqualified applicants with note of explanation.
    • Assemble a panel of WHPRMS board members to review the applications and select a recipient.
    • Notify applicants of selection or denial.
    • Confirm conference attendance and work with recipient to submit conference registration form and secure lodging.
    • Attends annual conference and announces the student scholarship winner at the Thursday evening award ceremony and introduces the winner before his or her award recipient speech.
    • Presents scholarship winner with award certificate and winning check.
    • Emails scholarship recipient's contact information to Membership Chair for one year of free dues.
  • Assists President in other duties, as needed, for the planning and execution of the annual conference.
  • Revises planning materials and presents to new President-Elect.
  • Updates job description, if needed, and forwards to Secretary.
